Dayan, Yunnan

Dayan ancient town sits at 2,400 metres above sea level under Yulong Snow Mountain The town has no regular street layout or surrounding walls and its buildings are arranged in graceful disorder according to the terrain. The town is full of old simple houses and winding streets. Clear streams zig zag their way through the town passing practically every house. The town has 354 stone bridges crossing the three rivers that run through it. Local residents are mainly Naxi who are friendly to strangers and willing to share the old towns tranquility with them
